Tango Mundo Championships

The Tango Mundo Championship will be held at the legendary Riviera Resort & Spa, Palm Springs during June 17-19, 2011.   The luxurious resort has won many prestigious awards for their world-class SpaTerre, Circa 59 Fine Dining and over 400 guest rooms.  Our dance competitions and workshops will be held at same grand ballroom and conference center where Sinatra and the pack used to work and play!

This year, we are offering two categories:

Salon Tango and
Stage Tango    

Salon Tango will offer four (4) divisions:
Professional – Dancers who have been paid to teach or perform
Amateur – Dancers who have not received payment to teach or perform
Pro/Am – A professional (dancer/instructor) and an amateur (student/dancer)
Over 55 Amateur – Dancers over the age of 55 who have not been paid to perform or teach.


Stage Tango will offer two (2) divisions:
Pro/Am – A professional (dancer/instructor) and an amateur (student/dancer)
Amateur – Dancers who have not received payment to teach or perform


Competitions schedule is as follows:
Qualifying Rounds - Friday, June 17                  6:00 – 8:00 PM
All competitors must be registered by 5PM and present by 6PM in the ballroom to qualify. 

Semi-Finals - Saturday, June 18            5:00 – 6:30 PM
All qualified competitors must be present by 4:30PM in the ballroom to qualify.  

Finals - Sunday, June 19               6:00 – 7:30 PM
All qualified competitors must be present by 5:30PM in the ballroom to qualify

* Full Event Pass holders may view all competitions without additional fees. Please CLICK HERE to register for the competitions only. Spectator ticketsfor competition only will be available on-site from Fri-Sun, June 17-19, 2011.
